IPL Pigmentation Treatment
Includes freckles, pigmentation, sun damage, age spots .
IPL stands for ‘intense pulsed light’. Depending on the wavelength setting, this technology is used to lighten pigmentation. The light is attracted to dark areas so this suits fairer skinned people the best. This is a suitable way to treat both brown skin pigmentation (sun damage and hormone related melasma) as well as red skin pigmentation.
Does IPL Pigmentation Treatment
IPL technology improves the appearance of photo aged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called photo rejuvenation for face and body. The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects although the pigmentation can go darker for up to a week & a light flaking can occur up to a week later.
The gentle, non-ablative treatments use broad spectrum light to treat the face, chest, body, neck and hands—virtually anywhere that sun damage shows.
IPL Technology provides a range of wavelengths. With our selection of cut off filters, IPL is like effectively treating a broad spectrum of vascular and pigmented lesions including photo aged skin treatments using photorejuvination. IPL is a light treatment with a sophisticated computer-driven precision devise delivering wave lengths of light 530- 560 mn to the area being treated offering gradual results with minimal patient downtime and risk of side effects.
IPL works well in combination with other treatments such as led & peels that also help to lighten skin. Reinforce clinic treatments with at home skin lightening creams, lightening spot treatment serum which includes antioxidants & active ingredients known for their lightening abilities.
How IPL Works
A broad spectrum of light is transmitted through a small, smooth, transparent hand piece which is gently placed over the skin. Cut-off filters in the hand piece change the wavelength range allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging them by breaking up the melanin. The body’s natural processes then removes the injured tissue giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
